Who We Are

Raenbow Productions was set up in 1999 by Anne Rae who had the vision of creating a theatre school for children that would build children's confidence and engage them in the world of theatre in a safe and inspiring environment. Raenbow quickly gained an enviable reputation as one of Scotland premier community based children's theatre schools, helping to nurture children's interest and passion for theatre. Raenbow expanded in 2001 to incorporate a department that has been commissioned by local councils and schools around Scotland to write and deliver touring productions that cover a number of relevant topics.

She then went on to get her Masters in Theatre and Performance at QMUL. For her PHD, Katie has been researching the role that women play as leaders in Scottish theatre. At university, she was involved with The Cecilian Society, where she performed in various shows and served on their committee and taking on the role of President in her final year. Carol also sings professionally, providing cabaret evenings for pubs and social clubs all across Scotland and also provides voice overs for the Butlins brand.

The Pink Ladies

The Pink Ladies are a dedicated team of volunteers who help out at our yearly shows. They are parents of either existing students or former students and are now very much part of the Raenbow family. Without their dedication and hard work the yearly shows would not be the huge success that they are.

The Stage Crew

The Stage Crew are an integral part of our shows. Friends of Raenbow and former students that have qualified as technicians, lighting and sound engineers. Or just enthusiastic former students that enjoy being part of the Raenbow team.

Joe McMinn - Lyricist

After arriving in Scotland in the mid 80s Joe took a rest from the music scene but started writing again a few years ago after being commissioned to write some original songs for Wee Slice Theatre Company. Joe has written the lyrics for all recent Theatre in Education shows and additional lyrics for the yearly drama shows.
